PERS, or Personal Emergency Reporting Systems, are an essential component of any independent living plan. This system uses a speaker phone that is activated by simply by pressing a button on a pendant or a wristband. While other systems can alert caregivers or family when activity is not detected, these systems will not immediately summon emergency responders. Calls are made to live operators, who will dispatch emergency responders and family as the situation dictates.
